FINE ART

Bold blossoms, voluptuous bouquets, and sumptuous botanicals and maximalist paintings are a signature of Jaclyn. Developed with beautiful transparent layers of acrylic paints that stain the canvas, then are filled with sweeps of colour in her free style. The pieces are indelibly linked to her through the music playing while she paints. Jaclyn experiences joy while creating and hope that her art conveys happiness to you.

ILLUSTRATION

Whimsical designs are the order for Jaclyn’s illustrations. Working primarily on her iPad, Jaclyn tickles the realm of imagination as she does when she’s painting. Everything is skewed just a touch so that there’s a sense of familiarity linking back, perhaps to your childhood. Jaclyn has recently started combining her pen work with her fine art, creating for her a new genre.

SURFACE DESIGN

Jaclyn is a maximalist in her surface design, as she is with her painting. Jaclyn’s patterns generally are a bold collaboration of simple layers that fit together perfectly filling the surface. Jaclyn loves designing a pattern for a particular item, so that she is able to customized her art to fit the surface of the item.

A KALEIDOSCOPE

Always fresh. Jaclyn’s work is like a kaleidoscope. It changes with each brush stroke, with each canvas.

RISE Collection

RISE Collection 2026 – Jaclyn’s latest collection, Rise released in late March 2026. This collection is filled with bold flowers, bright and light colours. And there are some large pieces; the paintings that were shown in the Music is the Muse exhibit are large canvases, three by four feet, but the collection as a whole has of course a variety of sizes sliding down to the tidy 12″ squares that are wonderful to tuck in your bare corners. On the Easel

New things are always developing in the studio. Every few months Jaclyn spends time experimenting with new colours, brush strokes or concepts, all with the purpose of further developing her skills and looking for ways to incorporate new ideas into her work.

Wallace is off the easel and is currently on exhibit (until June 9, 2026) at the Fraser Gallery in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. Acrylic 24 X 36″ framed in oak. To purchase contact the gallery.

Jaclyn’s on a tangent to bring more abstraction into her work and to veer into the world of lanscapes. Created with acrylic and charcoal on a 16 X 20″ canvas. This forest study is part of a series focused on more fluid brushstrokes.

Another of the forest studies, this is Jaclyn’s favourite so far. Jaclyn is working with acrylic and charcoal these days as she loves the extra layer of interest that she can create with the charcoal.
